Coca-Cola FEMSA (KOF) is the leading Coca-Cola products bottler in Latin America and the second largest bottler in the Coca-Cola system in the world. It serves the territories of Mexico City and its metropolitan area (Michoacán, Guanajuato, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Tabasco, Chiapas, Oaxaca and the greater part of Veracruz) and countries such as Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Panama, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina in Latin America.
KOF produces and distributes soft drinks, including brands such as Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light, Sprite, Diet Sprite, Fanta, Delaware Punch, Lift, Schweppes, Power Ade, Ciel, Ciel Mineral, Fresca, Senzao, Tai, Quatro, Kin, Beat, Mundet, Crush, Hi-C, Extrapoma, Etiqueta Azul, Nestea Tea, Adventures.
FEMSA holds 45.7% of KOF’s shares. The Coca-Cola Company holds a 39.6% share and the remaining 14.7% is quoted on the New York and Mexico Stock Exchanges.
Up to December 2002, the sales of Coca-Cola FEMSA represented 25% of the total sales of the Coca-Cola Company in Mexico, 38% in Argentina and 4% of the sales of the Coca-Cola Company worldwide.
The company operates twelve bottling plants in Mexico, four in Central America, six in Colombia, four in Venezuela, three in Brazil, and one in Argentina.

The client’s vision:
1) Which were the main motives or expectations in the purchase of Loyal software?
The need for document management software that allows us to manage some 1000 documents, with notification alarms and approval workflows, security with regard to editing documents, visualization by areas and electronic approval.

2) How would you describe the advantages or returns achieved through the use of Loyal today (productivity, costs, improved administration of the quality system, etc.)?
It allows us to correctly manage about 1000 documents that make up the quality and environment management system. It makes administration easier through the use of alarms and approval workflows.

3) Which would be the main objectives within the ISO 9000 management system that were achieved with the help of Loyal software?
• Compliance with document control requirements
• Updating of documentation
• Access of users to documents by area and compliance with confidentiality requirements for certain documents
• Guarantee of corresponding approvals
• Use not only for ISO 9000, but also all the systems implemented in the company (ISO 14001 / HACCP / OHSAS 18001)
